Rose Hall and the ghost of Annie Palmer

The Rose Hall Great House in Jamaica is haunted (Yes, I said haunted). The ghost of Annie Palmer is said to still walk the grounds. The slave people on her plantation referred to Annie, as the white witch. She murdered several husbands and many slave lovers. The slaves taught Annie voodoo in order to prolong their lives (a happy witch is a safe witch).

Mom and I took this excursion tour because it was one offered by Carnival Cruise line. The tour began with a stop in the pub for some Witches Brew and I'm here to tell you, if you could have choked it down, you probable would have seen ghost. Our guide said it was to make Annie more attracted to you.

I didn't see any ghost, but there is definitely an eerieness. Our guide added to the eerie atmosphere by giving a detailed history of Annie Palmers cruel acts.

Yes, we did hope to see a ghost, but Annie let us down that day (it was probably because I only took a few sips of that brew). I took many photos in hope of capturing her on digital film, but again no ghost...just a couple of reflected flash spots.

The history of the old sugar plantation was amazing, but I have to admit I was disappointed not to have seen or captured a ghostly image.

Jamaica was beautiful. We ended up with one of the nicest taxi drivers named Joe, he offered to take us back out for some shopping after the tour. We only paid $6.00 a person for him to be our private taxi driver.
Joe walked us from store to store as we shopped(our own security guard)and then took us to a place called the Pork Pit. The Pork Pit is the best place on the island for Jerked Chicken. Excellent!!

An untold story still awaits you, if you want to hear about the well endowed monkey. Let me know and I'll tell you the story and send the photo.***WARNING*** photo is x-rated.

I guess I'll just have to hope I see Big Foot when we do our road trip this summer.
